I’ve been following the development by Unknown X, and it’s now available on Steam and Nintendo Switch for $14.99. Remember the fun of classic gamebooks? Now, join Shrine Maiden Reimu as she embarks on a quest to find her friend Marisa, with your choices deciding her fate!

Everything suggests she vanished into a magical book…one that’s mostly empty. Now, you’ll step into a beautiful, incomplete tale, and your choices as Reimu will determine what happens next.

Embark on a five-chapter adventure through the magical world of Gensokyo! Use dice rolls to shape your story as you explore incredible places like grand mansions, shimmering deserts, and whimsical circuses — all while searching for clues about where Marisa has gone.

Although a bit of good fortune always helps, success isn’t just about luck. You’ll need to collect 50 different dice, each with a unique power. Some dice, like the Skepticism dice (which only show odd numbers), can improve your chances, while others, like the Anger dice, offer bigger rewards when rolled. You can even use dice like Constancy to remove negative effects or the Resignation die to force a result of zero.

Throughout your adventure, you’ll receive guidance from powerful magical advisors. Four heroines from the Touhou universe — Remilia, Sakuya, Patchouli, and Flandre — will each suggest a different route to take. By following their advice, you can strengthen your connections and earn new dice, but be warned: their paths can lead to surprising events and multiple possible outcomes for Reimu.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes a digital art book featuring beautiful character illustrations and concept art. You’ll also get the original game soundtrack, plus two music packs from RD-Sounds — they’ve created over 500 tracks for the entire Touhou series!

The developers of ‘Marisa of Liartop Mountain’ wanted the game to feel rewarding whether players used clever tactics or just got lucky. They also expressed huge thanks to the game’s online community, saying feedback from the demo testers was essential to the game’s successful launch.
